چکیده

Coherently pumped (Kerr) solitons in an ideal optical microcavity are expected to undergo random quantum motion that determines fundamental performance limits applications of the soliton microcombs1. Here this walk and its impact on Kerr timing jitter studied experimentally. The limit is discerned by measuring relative position counter-propagating solitons2. Their features weak interactions also presents common-mode suppression technical noise, which typically hides fluctuations. This contrast co-propagating solitons, found have well below a single account strong correlation their mutual motion. Good agreement between theory experiment. results establish microcombs provide new insights multisoliton physics. Quantum fundamentally microresonator frequency combs. generate comb spectra analysed, reaching establishing for microcombs.

Quantum degeneracy of microcavity polaritons.

We investigate experimentally one of the main features of a quantum fluid constituted by exciton polaritons in a semiconductor microcavity, that is, quantum degeneracy of a macroscopic fraction of the particles. We show that resonant pumping allows us to create a macroscopic population of polaritons in one quantum state. Furthermore, we demonstrate that parametric polariton scattering results i...

Observation of bright polariton solitons in a semiconductor microcavity

Microcavity polaritons are composite half-light half-matter quasiparticles, which have recently been demonstrated to exhibit rich physical properties, such as nonequilibrium condensation, parametric scattering and superfluidity. At the same time, polaritons have important advantages over photons for information processing, since their excitonic component leads to weaker diffraction and stronger...

Quantum Solitons

Two themes are considered in this paper. First of all in the Introduction a comment is made about the Tzitzéica equation which occurred in the author’s work as reported in [1]. Much recent work has referred to this equation and a representative bibliography is given in this paper with brief comments. The second theme of this paper is concerned with work surrounding Quantum Solitons and the auth...

Multi-stability and polariton solitons in microcavity wires.

Nonlinear polaritons in microcavity wires are demonstrated to exhibit multi-stable behavior and rich dynamics, including filamentation and soliton formation. We find that the multi-stability originates from co-existence of different transverse cavity modes. Modulational stability and conditions for multi-mode polariton solitons are studied. Soliton propagation in tilted, relative to the pump mo...
